Our Recommendations
Cocktail party – Two 7″ plates per person for each two hours of serving should be sufficient for hors d’oeuvres. As an alternative, you can use toothpicks or beverage napkins.

Straight Buffet – Two plates per person for items not planned to go on the dinner plate. Two to three dinner plates per person. One dessert plate. I know it sounds like a lot, but think about the last time you were at a buffet. How many times did you go back for more?

Full Service or a Plated Buffet –  Sit down brunch, lunch or dinners, when your dining tables are set, a single  10 1/4″ plates is all that one needs for the main course. A 9″ plate can be used for salads, sandwiches, or for more informal meals. You can use a 6″ or 7 ” plate for bread and butter, side dishes or even desserts, but the 6″ size is really a bread and butter plate.
